José “Bambam” Rodríguez is a Belgian-Venezuelan Bass player who currently lives in New York City, where he regularly performs.
He has toured over 10 European countries, South America, The Caribbean, Mexico and the U.S.A., where he has played concerts for Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The Brooklyn Museum, and festivals like Jazz a Vienne, North Sea Jazz Festival, Montauk Music Festival, Brussels Jazz Marathon and Garana Jazz.

Through his career, he has collaborated with artists such as Claudia Acuña, Celso Duarte, Lara Bello, Luis Perdomo, Samuel Torres, Clarence Penn, Ari Hoenig, Dean Bowman, Rogerio Boccato, Juancho Herrera, Yayo Serka, Michael Simon, Gerardo Rosales, amongst others.
From an early age he was also part of the worldwide famous “El Sistema” movement of youth orchestras in Venezuela, where he performed in alongside Gustavo Dudamel.
Academically speaking, Bambam holds two Master’s degrees in Jazz and World Music from the prestigious conservatories of Brussels and Amsterdam.

Contrabajista Venezolano residente en Nueva York, graduado en el 2009 del Conservatorio Real de Bruselas como contrabajista de Jazz. En 2011 obtuvo una maestría en el mismo y en 2012 una segunda maestría en el Conservatorio de Amsterdam, especializándose en Jazz y Ritmos Sudamericanos.
En Venezuela realizó estudios de contrabajo clásico con el Maestro Félix Petit y trabajó durante varios años en el Sistema de Orquestas Infantiles y Juveniles de Venezuela. Paralelamente se desenvolvía como Bajista de Latin Jazz, música tradicional Venezolana y otros estilos.
Bambam se ha presentado en mas de10 países Europeos, en Latinoamérica, el Caribe y los Estados Unidos, incluyendo conciertos para el Carnegie Hall, Jazz Gallery, Cornelia Street Café, Brookly Museum, festivales como el North Sea Jazz festival, Jazz a Vienne, Brussels Jazz Marathon, Garana Jazz, entre otros. Hoy en día reside en Nueva York, donde ha colaborado con artistas como Claudia Acuña, Lara Bello, Celso Duarte, Luis Perdomo, Samuel Torres, Ari Hoenig, Dean Bowman, Juancho Herrera, Yayo Serka, Gerardo Rosales, Michael Simon y Rogerio Boccato.
